Giving Thanks
November 24, 2016
On this day in the US we celebrate the things for which we are thankful.
I am thankful for the support of the taxpayers of this country who fund scientific research grants so that we all can advance knowledge and improve health.
I am thankful for the hard work of all of the science technicians who anchor the laboratories.
I am thankful for all of the support staff that let research Universities, hospitals and Institutes operate.
I am thankful for all of the scientific trainees who pour their intellects and energy into discovery.
I am thankful for the Professors and Principle Investigators who struggle mightily to keep all the balls in the air so that the science they love can advance in their own laboratories.
I am also thankful for you, Dear Readers. Thanks for another fun year of discussions on the blog.

Today it’s also worth reflecting on the genocide committed by Europeans of the indigenous people who were already here in North America.

I am thankful to Drugmonkey for creating and maintaining such a useful and entertaining blog. I am not thankful to Comrade PhysioProffe for anything.

I’m thankful that right wing scum like you display their depravity transparently so everyone can see it.

I am really thankful for Drug Monkey’s blog, Prof-like Substance’s blog, and the people who comment on them. I’ve learned vastly more about the world of NIH and NSF funding from these two blogs than from anywhere else. Thanks!!

I am thankful for CPP’s recipes and unfiltered (often brilliant) insight; and DM’s ability to see through CPP’s crazy-uncle-features so that we all can benefit from the best team since Hubel and Wiesel…or DiMaggio and Mantle…or Thatcher and Reagan…or Bredt and Nicoll…and so on.

I am thankful that for the past 10 years this blog has been here to help me waste time when I should be writing proposals.
CPP: Just because they were here a few thousand years earlier doesn’t make them ‘indigenous’. We’re all African emigrants, remember?

“Crazy uncle features” is an excellent euphemism.

Comrade PhysioProffe makes a welcome if unexpected declaration on behalf of ending immigration and protection of our indigenous population. Hail fellow nationalist!
(Or is he actually taking the side of genocide of a native population? So hard to tell with sarcasm nowadays.)
I know what i’m most grateful this year and it starts with PEOTUS and ends with Making America Great Again.
