If you are in a position that Journal of Neuroscience is to be sneered at for an insufficiently high IF, you are a GlamourMag scientist. Topic is irrelevant at that point.

I can honestly say I’ve never heard another neuroscientist sneer at J Neurosci. Where on earth did you hear that?

and as a senior colleague who regularly publishes in teh glamour mags recently told me: no one puts you through the mill on peer review like J Neurosci!

J Neurosci is teh awesome.
But not everyone agrees. Whether one would define those people as “neuroscientists” is debatable.

Don’t worry , juniorprof. When you become senior prof. and are in a couple of hiring comits. you will find plenty of j.neurosci. sneerers.
