Nice to be back on wordpress
August 4, 2010
Our friendly blog builder guy, MarkCC of Good Math, Bad Math, has done a great job getting Scientopia running as a platform. The WP engine is familiar from my original blog so it is nice to have that.
There’s some bad news for you, though, DearReader. Mobile device blogging via the iPhone WP app.
You may be subjected to a higher rate of half-baked thoughts posted without many links to speak of.
You’ve been warned.

Oh, noes! I can just see it now: DrugMonkey and PhysioProf blogging from their crackberries and iPad minis after a bottle of MFJ. It might just break the internetz.

I am sure I do not know what you are talking about. A supposed domestic goddess should recognize the reference to pies and bread and stuff like that.

I tried out the Android version this morning. Works great. Can’t wait to be the jerkoff blogging from a tent in the mountains. You know, that guy, me.

Have you looked at the latest 24hr page at Sb recently? My banner color ain’t saying anything novel message-wise my friend.

Yeah, but I don’t get why all the double-talk.

“double-talk” implies that I am saying one thing and doing another. I’m not seeing where that fits here.

Fair enough — let’s call it “constructive ambiguity.”

The banner at the old place reminded me of being an altar boy in the Polish church where I grew up in northern New Jersey – we’d drape everything in black on Good Friday. I took the metaphor in that spirit.

The grey-on-black banner was like “bad” Spider-Man in the third movie. I envisioned DrugMonkey swathed in worrisome dark tentacles, making illicit choices like running the statistics before he’s finished the experiment.

“Deliberately obtuse” is how I would describe it. Since I have no idea what the purpose of having three (!) separate blogs is, I created a Yahoo Pipes pipe that combines the RSS feeds from all three into a single feed. It’s pretty easy to do: http://pipes.yahoo.com

Feature request: I’d appreciate if the main RSS feed had the full content, rather than the short blurbs with no links.
Thanks!
