The banner

July 26, 2010

Huh, you know what? The original plan was to get started here on ScienceBlogs with a plain banner and then after a few weeks have one of those banner contests so the brilliant and creative readers could come up with something.
Wow, has it been so long? And the first time I changed the banner was for the strike.
Now it is starting to grow on me. What do you think?

    Works for me.
But then again so would a low resolution digital photo of a faded Polaroid of the blog name scrawled in purple crayon on the back of a rumpled and grease stained fast food bag.
What can I say? I’m easy.

  2. It’s got more of a dark side feel to it now, I like it.

I’m with Prof-like-subst, I like the Darth Vader-ish look. Maybe its time for a new persona – Darth Monkey?

I agree with GMP. You need monkeys. Also you need drugs. Maybe monkeys and pills. Maybe a barrell of monkeys, or monkeys with a barrell of pills.

I vote for a bong hoisting, E popping, grant writing monkey.
Or maybe a variation on the “See no evil, hear no…” with the above accoutrements.

I have never seen the word “monkey” look so serious before. I like it!
The banner contest is a great idea, too! I need a banner for the new LabSpaces site, and I’m total rubbish at design programs. I wonder if people will enter?
PS- there is something hypnotizing about your scrolling Twitter feed. Even though I know it’s just re-showing the same 4 tweets, I can’t help but stare…

Since you ask I like the old banner better. But hey it’s your fucking blog.
Maybe you could liven this one up with a few scantily clad men.
